The ECOPLAN® Wastewater Treatment Plant

Product definition

Is a pre-engineered, fully-integrated, stand-alone wastewater treatment unit, housed within a transportable inter-modal ISO shipping container ( 20 or 40 feet ) and designed for small volume applications.

The Plant is made up of 6 Main Units where aerobic degradation of organic matter takes place: Primary Sediment Chamber, Aerobic Reactor, Secondary Sediment Chamber, Aerobic Digester Unit, Sludge Accumulator and Disinfection Chamber

ECOPLAN has products available to process up to 25,000 gallons of wastewater per day in a single unit. Using modular concept, multiple units can service larger volumes at one or gives an alternative solution to redevelopment needs.

Main processes Primary Sedimentation

In this process, bulky solids, floating bodies and other elements not suitable for treatment in the plant are retained (e.g. nylon, cotton, plastics).

Aeration - The aerobic digestion of the waste water starts at this stage: mixing and oxygenating it is done by means of air diffusers with elastic membrane located at the bottom of the reactor.

Secondary Sedimentation - The solids contained by the waste water sediment in this process. The solids form a layer of mud at the bottom of the sediment chamber and they are circulated by an “air lift” system towards the entrance of the reactor.

Aerobic Digestion* - The aerobic digestion of mud produces lower BOD concentrations in the floating liquid and a biologically stable and odorless residual liquid.

Aerobic Accumulation of Sludge* - At this stage, by an “air lift” process, the sludge that sediments daily in the aerobic digesting unit is aerated by means of membrane diffusers located at the bottom of this unit. The mud accumulated is removed by a waste collecting service.

Disinfection - The liquid treated arrives at the disinfection chamber from the sediment chamber. Disinfection is done by adding sodium hypochlorite or by means of ultraviolet ray lamps.

Principal characteristics

For use in places where there is not treatment of wastewater or total or partial replacement of existing treatment systems, in emergency management, temporary service, and remote settings.
Modular capability allows an ample range of uses:
    • Enlarge existing systems capacity immediately.
    • Stop using old units in order to remodeling, maintenance or enlargements without service interruption.
    • Improve the quality of the treated liquids to pouring into rivers or permeating it through the soil, meeting the international ecological standards in this matter.
    • Enables the expansion of the processing capacity by adding new basic units.

Main applications

These products are designed to treat mixed or separated gray and black water streams that are the typical products of residential, commercial , public and industrial facilities and generate effluent that meets stringent environmental and reuse requirements.

For use in places where there is no treatment of wastewater.
Total or partial replacement of existing wastewater treatment systems in order to:
    • Enlarge its capacity for wastewater treatment immediately
    • Stop using existing units to make enlargements, remodeling or maintenance, without interrupting the treatment service.
    • Improve the quality of the liquid treated so that pouring it into rivers or permeating it through the soil meets the required standards.

Competitive advantages

Aerobic Plant which enables them to obtain a waste water that has no septic odor and is biologically stable.

Internationally easy to move Its dimensions are identical to those of 20 or 40 feet containers, which makes local and international transport faster, more efficient and more economical.

Modular plants , enable the expansion of the processing capacity by adding new modules, which enables modular capability and the optimization of the investment in time.

Geographic relocation and reuse of the investment made

High degree of purification of residual liquids In a smaller area .

Reduction in the drainage costs Plants can be easily located in drainage areas and sub-areas.

Permanent and sustainable solution to the environmental problem of getting rid of the wastewater of a population while meeting the international standards in this matter.

Simple and easy operation,

Minimal maintenance and operational cost.

Installation and preparation for operation are fast: less than 20 days
